IRIS Toners/Colorants are designed specifically for use in high-performance, non-aqueous coatings such as Lacquers,Urethanes, Industrial Maintenance Coatings, and Concrete Coatings. These Colorants are designed to out perform the traditional solvent based colorants on the market.
These colorants are designed to make custom stains as well as tint coatings.
The various pigments utilized in this colorant line are dispersed in a proprietary acrylic resin vehicle. This vehicle provides excellent wetting and dispersing properties superior to other acrylic resins available.
Ultra Low VOC Stain Base.
Used as a pre-stain treatment of wooden surfaces to reduce blotchy areas in soft woods before staining. Sand wooden surface with 150 or 180 grit sandpaper . Apply by spray, brush or rag liberally over entire surface and remove excess by wiping with a cloth. Allow IRIS Ultra Low VOC Stain Base to dry 15-30 minutes before applying any IRIS POLYCHROME stain color. Best results are achieved if the stain is applied within 12 hours. Used as a clear stain base with colorants to mix custom colors. Up to 20% by volume of IRIS TONER colorants may be added to Ultra Low VOC Stain Base to create custom stain colors. Ultra Low VOC Stain Base may also be added to IRIS POLYCHROME wiping/Spraying stain to reduce color intensity.
